With Page 38, we’ve reached the end of Chapter Three! Let’s see how many different times I alternate between using integers (3) and words (Three) in this post when referencing chapters…Anyhow, I’ve come to realize that this chapter was not as organized or thought out as I would have liked, which made updates a lot more sporadic to what I would like them to be. In theory, I would have buffer like a good cartoonist, but there is Life and Job Stuff that unfortunately get that Priority thing for the time being.
I also realized most of the times with Chapter 3, I was slowing down on pages due to the fact that I didn’t completely finish the script or thumbnails first. Put simply, I would do this:
Me: *script script script* Gee, I’m not sure how to get from this point to that point to get to this conclusion. Eh, that’s five more pages of script, I’m sure I’ll figure it out later!
(Later happens)
Me: I need to draw the next page, doot-de-oh, wait, I don’t know what happens next because I reached the end of what I wrote for this. Dagnabbit. *hastily starts scripting*
PAKOW! A doodle!
This is a bad habit that I highly recommend avoiding if you plan on doing comics.
So I’m going to make a point for Chapter 4 to completely finish the script first, then get at least half-way through the thumbnails before I start on pages and resume posting them. I’m not as fast at drawing as I would like to be, and having thumbnails and the solidified script speeds me up a lot. Based on my drawing speed and the updates over the last few months, Fizzlebit will probably also be a weekly webcomic once it resumes.
The Cool Thing referenced last time is that while I work on scripting (which isn’t much fun to post) and thumbnails (as well as some much needed WordPress BootCampin’ for website sprucing up), is a McTuffin comic strip! McTuffin’s comic strip is very much in the same style as his TV show that entrances Lydia’s classmates. I’m breakin’ things up a bit and doing these in black and white, horizontal strip format. The first batch are already Excessively Silly. I’m not sure if these will be twice a week yet or not since I’m using them as my drawing outlet while doing said scripting, thumbnailing and WordPress Bootcampin’.
I’m posting them inbetween Chapter 3 and 4 of Fizzlebit, so if you want to re-read previous chapters, they will totally still be up. So check back soon for some PAKOW!
